Artshole Competition

Artshole.co.uk invites you to participate in our competition ‘Chronicle’.
Artshole offers an exciting opportunity for emerging photographers to exhibit their work in a leading contemporary art gallery in East London. The final selected artists will be exhibited in a group show on 27-29 th of March 2007 at The Brick Lane Gallery.

The exhibition is open to young, thought-provoking and experimental artists, who gain inspiration from personal everyday experiences and create cutting edge photography. The title ‘Chronicle’ should be interpreted as a brief/guide for the work.

Jurors:

Danielle Horn - fashion photographer, curator, Tony Taglianetti - gallery owner/manager, Katja Cheronva – artist/photographer, George Barker – fine artist.

Eligibility :
Photographers of 18 years of age or older are eligible to submit his/her work for consideration.

Entry Procedure and Fees:
Artist may submit a maximum of ten works to be considered for selection.

Submission must be provided by Email or CD, DVD or good quality photographs, no larger than 5x7 inches. Please ensure that you label each piece with the following information: correlating number to match the entry form, title, dimensions and artist name. Top of the work must be clearly indicated (with an arrow). If submitting your entries on CD please do not include your name or any other identifying information on the images themselves; that information must be placed on the CD label and in the file name (for example, 01_johnsmith_untitled.jpg).

Please do NOT send original artwork. All submitted CDs, DVDs, etc. become the permanent record of the competition and will not be returned.

Along with the submission of your work, please include the application form, a short artist statement, a biography/current CV and an entry fee. The non-refundable fee of £25 can be paid by Cheque (preferably), made out to: Art in Mind and sent to

Notification:
Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than 9 March 2007. Notification will be made by e-mail, therefore please ensure you include your email address on your submission form.

Copyright:
Copyright will remain with the artist; however, by signing the application form, artists agree that their work may be used for publicity purposes and featured on our website.
