Artist Statement:

"You can find inspiration in everything, if you can't then you are not looking properly." (Paul Smith - fashion designer).

The quote above suggests that inspiration can come from anything and I have discovered the truth of this, as the inspiration for my design work has come from the seemingly mundane pieces of machinery found in an oil related workshop.
The machinery along with the industrial components and graphics displayed on them intrigued me and I have analysed the array of reflective surfaces found, from eroded to scratched, to accidental and graffiti.
I have created a range of womenswear cutting edge fabrics incorporating distressing, labels and text.
By using unusual fabrics I have continued the industrial theme and with the fusion of print and mixed media I have added an extra dimension to my work.
Ultimately my collection is innovative, inspiring and desirable.
I have a very keen interest in the Fashion and Textiles industry, and hope to enjoy a long-term successful career in this field.
