Spreading
love
The project-
Is based on the idea of spreading love wherever we go.
Here I am using old shoes, with designed souls that have the symbolic
word love engraved.
The bottoms of the shoes will be dipped in to paint, the prints I leave
behind will state love.
Some location will be strategically chosen locations where a reminder
is necessary, locations that radiate violence.
The meaning-
Is simple we all know the word, most of us know the feeling, we just tend
to forget
about it, and this is a reminder.
Artist
Statement:
I now days
come from a public art background, the early engagement with the public
left little room to explore oneself.
Public art practise thought me about critical reflection of impression
and registration of the outside realm. It encouraged towards ethical stroke
political engagement.
My recent
developments circulate around my aspiration to bring subjects to attention
through a reflective, artistic representation of both terrestrial and
internal nature.
To gain fresh insights through which I will increase my understanding
of chosen subjects without contradicting my purpose.
Current endeavours reflect an intimate nature of my practise that I only
recently started to explore.
There for I wish to pursue a proposal that is of an emotional interest.
It underpins thoughts regarding my origins, and the role destiny has played
on my life and others, if any.
Until now my subjects have been narratives of others, now I am ready to
share and explore the first part of myself.
This is a different path than I have travelled before and therefor still
abstract to myself.
The work will represent my impulse to respond to my self, my surroundings,
and to life.
I want the project to be self-autobiographical but not self-portrative.
The title
Miscellaneous parturition, represents on one hand the art world, and on
the other hand life it self. The message the words transcend is simple,
yet the words to many of us complicated.
MISCELLANEOUS
PARTURITION
Part one,
my film.
Is about returning to my origin, Madalinskiego, the post communist hospital
in Warsaw where I was born. Where my mother gave birth, to me.
I grew up with the name in reference to my birth, but I do not recall
being there.
The date was the 4th of February 1976; the time was 20.30.
This part
of the project evolves around personal experiences and places in Warsaw
that I want to document. Places as Madalinskiego, the hospital where I
was born, or Maltanska 11, my first address. Find out about who lives
there today, and how I will respond to relive it again.
Part two,
my twin brothers and sisters.
Will be centred on the research of people that were born in Madalinskiego
at the same date, at the same time as myself.
I wish to establish their names, locate them and their life stories.
I wish for every person to be dedicated their own film.
In the final stages I see these films looping continuously parallel with
one another, with the opening of our birthday the 4th of February 1976.
The documentation
will happen through notes, drawings, photography and film.
I like the usage of film and photography to demonstrate subjective souvenirs
of contemporary reality, or as a documentary record.
Through their quality’s one can touch the skin of historical and
contemporary moments.
A photograph stands to me as a fragment of a whole, a captured, trimmed,
solid reality, where it is important to reflect on what one wants to show
and hide.
This project
is a concept without any notion about availability for it’s happening.
Therefore I do not have the answers of the final stage such as weather
it will prove it self to be an exhibition, site specific installation,
or other.
It is only through practice my work will get better and my agenda clearer,
as regards to my artistic strategy.
Sincerely yours
Anetka
