Anne Toase Artist Statement
Figurative work has always been my first love, charcoal drawing with line and tone and exploring colour with pastel. I work directly from life, and have been fortunate to meet many very professional and inspiring models. In the last few years, I have been working mainly with Acrylic. The result is the new contemporary works which are a direct response to the patterns of form and light. I work in series as each subject or pose sparks more than one interpretation.
