Anssi Sjakka Artist Statement "Through looking at old machienery, balloons, chains and delicate constructions, I have been attempting to explore the idea of potential, something precious that will one day be of great importance, something that is on the verge of becoming. Work that has potential can look very humble in appearance at first, like a small technical drawing, a revolionary idea. Many times, such ideas are formed by simply merging two things together. It is this connection that makes it possible for something to come into being or action. I therefore construct my work in a way that alllows the possibility of connections and creates tension between these connections."
