Artist Statement

Jessica studied Art and Design at Bristol School of Art, Weston College of H.E. and The University of the West of England, graduating in 2000 with an honours degree in Fine Art in Context. She has run workshops in schools, and undertaken public projects that have led to permanent installations in Bristol and Bath. Since 2001, she paints full-time.

I aim to produce imagery that is ambiguous; that reveals itself slowly. The paintings are a reflection of my emotions, describing my inner world. The process is one of making continual decisions, some conscious, some intuitive which affect the final outcome of the painting. Images are allowed to evolve through balance and instinct.
