| Artist Statement: 'The
truth is beautiful, without doubt: but so are lies.' In much of my work I seek to create visual metaphors for the post-modern concerns of heterogeneity, referential cross-fertilisation, and the intertextuality of the cultural landscape. Using combinations of video, installation, sculpture, performance and model making, I create a montage 'world' in which the juxtaposition of anti-idealised, 'counterfeit' reflections of the visual landscape produce spontaneous dialogues in the mind of the viewer. Like some of the strongly held beliefs held by large numbers of the general populace, the characters that inhabit my works seem unaware of the rickety, unsteady and insincere materials from which the worlds they exist within are fashioned - seemingly ready to collapse with the slightest interference.
