And so the
end is near...
We'll after a many false sunset, it's finally time to draw a curtain on
our parties at the Asylum, it's been a good couple of years and we've
seen some of the best DJs around strut their stuff in front of our matchbox
sized dancefloor. But life moves on, Kinky Voodoo will be concentrating
on our residency at the 333 and all our nights at the bull, (of which
more later) so for one last time we will be standing proud as a bastion
of good music and general not being an ass-ness in the scum filled streets
around oxford street.
Come down shed a tear and shake a leg one last time.

The Bull of St. John Street
The wheel of life keeps on turning, as one door closes another opens,
and in this case it's opened onto one of the nicest pub/venues i've ever
had the good fortune to waste my wages in. Situated just 4 minutes walk
form Angel tube station (turn left outside Angel, carry on down the road,
over the crossroads, and then it's 3-4 minutes walk, just past the posh
fish shop.), The Bull is a landmark pub that has been lovingly restored.
It now boasts a fine kitchen, great selection of drinks, lush leather
sofas, open fires, the works.
Perfect for lazy drinking, dancing or checking out a band, The Bull is
open seven days a week and has a late license at the weekends making it
a great place to start your evening before heading onto the likes of Fabric,
Electrowerkz or the bedroom of that boy/girl you've been snogging all
night.
But of course before you can drink and dance and get stupid you need music
and we've got some of the best for you over the next few weeks.

RED ALERT
For two years Kinky Voodoo and Red Alert have been pitted against one
another in a epic David vs. Goliath style clash, so after regularly trouncing
them it's finally nice to work with the boys for a change.
Their parties at Herbal, The Telegraph and at the 333 have justifiably
earned them a reputation for throwing some of the best funk fuelled carnival-esque
hip-hop, house and breaks nights in London and it's a great pleasure to
bring them down to The Bull and have them honour us with a few choice
platters.
Keeping the place jumping and pumping will Red Alert's ROB & HARLEY
and special guest Wall of Sound's TOM SYMMONDS.

KID ACNE
It's an extra special night at The Bull this weekend as one of my favourite
artists, KID ACNE (in every sense of the word) pays us a visit. Whether
it's his artwork (as seen on the cover of many of your favourite records
such as Plaid) or his own records, he manages to imbue a unique sense
of humour that is wholely unique and refreshing in a scene that is normally
several foot up it's own ass.
Kepping things equally surreal is one of the more interesting MCs to have
emerged over the last few years, Big Dada's INFINTE LIVEZ, whilst other
MCs restrict themselves to self defeating and ultimately tired faux gangster
cliches, Infite takes things off to a different plane and it's all the
better for it.
And it gets better, keeping things disorderly we have the Global TOMination
crew in full effect, Lex Record's TOM BROWN, wwfm's TOM CENTRAL and Music
of Chances TOM MEMMOTT, will be taking turns to get the headz banging,
the hands clapping and the feet stomping.

NEW YEARS EVE
Honestly lets face it, clubs suck at new year, you're still in the queue
for the cloakroom at midnight, you're stuck next to some pill chewing
monkey gurning his face off whilst Jeff Mills plays the same set he always
plays, BORING... what do we want? we want good fun party music to shake
our rumps to, we want to be drunk and disorderly my midnight in time to
slurr the words to auld scottish songs, we want to have fun and we don't
want it to cost £30 to get in (shame on you dogstar...). Well we
got all that and more at the Bull this new year. Don't miss out!
