In June we are very pleased to present three artists, one painter and two ceramicists. Helen Melland, studied art at Manchester, Chelsea and Brighton before settling in London. Her work is quirky, upbeat and playful. Her sources include medieval and Japanese influences, and her work explores the sensation rather than the illusion of space. More at http://www.zimmerstewart.co.uk/Helen-Melland.html Jola Spytkowska, based in Hackney, studied at Goldsmiths teaches, works with schools, creates pieces for public spaces and still finds time to create small and large pieces for sale in galleries. Her work is humourous and combines human and animal imagery with household objects (a brush or a kettle for example). More at http://www.zimmerstewart.co.uk/Jola-Spytkowska.html Fenella Mallalieu, also based in London, produces bowls, plates and dishes each with her signature 'pinch' and combination of zinc glazes.
