FETE |
5th
annual designer Village Fete at the V&A Friday Late 30 July, 6.30 - 10pm and Saturday 31 July, 1-5pm This July sees the fifth annual designer Village Fete at the V&A, now a firm favourite of the London summer scene. This fete with a twist will see some of the best of British design at the V&A. The line-up this year includes stalls by Carl Clerkin & Gitta Gschwendtner, Bump, Daniel Eatock and many more of the latest design talent around. A star prize in the goodie-laden tombola this year will be an exclusive edra Favela chair by Brazil's hottest design duo, the Campana Brothers. Other feted favourites will be there too, and Saturday's 'dress as a design icon' children's fancy dress competition will be a spectacle in itself - past winners include Noah the Arne Jacobsen mixer tap and Georgie the Sony Walkman. DJ and Jerwood prize winner Michael Marriot will fill the V&A garden with summery tunes, while young and old can browse at the innovative stalls which have given traditional games a contemporary makeover. Visitors can try their hand at casting a candelabra at Castaway's stand or treat the child within to a customised lolly at Bump's Italian ice cream parlour. The Village Fete is jointly organised by the V&A and Scarlet Projects.
