Croydon
Inter Faith Exhibition |
July 2004
The purpose of the exhibition is to promote relationships and friendships across the faith communities. Furthermore, to create positive awareness of community cohesion. All too often faith is associated with negative images and attitudes. In this exhibition the image is challenged by promoting the reality of communities that celebrate and bring together people to share in activities that are life affirming and the grounding of community life. The exhibition includes images and artwork from all of the major faith traditions and through images of worship, community gatherings and celebrations affirms the good that faith brings to the wider Croydon community. It has been organised by 22 year old graduate in Media Photography and winner of BBC Birmingham Respect “Snap It” photography competition, Selina Chooramun. Having been awarded a grant from voluntary organisation Timebank to encourage interfaith projects in the community and supported by Croydon Interfaith Network. The exhibition is open from July 1st to the 30th in Exhibition space C. Official opening July 6th by the Bishop of Croydon @ 6.00pm
