Good pictures can be found everywhere, and AGFA will prize the best ones.
On the first of
March 2004, Agfa starts the second Agfa Black and White Competition with
the motto „move
it!“. The international competition calls on all enthusiasts in
black-and-white photography to
picture different aspects of sports and movement. Scenes from official
sport events and such
as taken from the street like rollerblading are both welcome. In June,
a jury of experts will
chose the best shots from all entries. The first three winners will each
be rewarded with a
Hasselblad camera 501 CM. Additionally, the Agfa multicontrast packages
will bear their
names and motives in 2005.
"We received a great variety of quality pictures from more than 70
countries already in
2003. In 2004 we offer a lot of publicity to the winners. During the Photokina
in Cologne we
will put on a „Walk of fame“, an exhibition dedicated to the
most interesting entries. To
appreciate the artistic value of the best twelve pictures, we will edit
a sophisticated photo
calendar,“ explains Christian Sinz, Global Product Manager für
B/W Papers and initiator of
the competition, to point out the commitment to quality and internationality.
„We chose our
motto „move it!“ due to the increasing importance of sports
and movement in every day life,
because those themes motivate people from all over the world. This is
exemplified by trends
like wellness and snwoboarding."
