Artist statment My passion for drawing started when I was fourteen when I first saw Michelangelo’s studies of the Sistine Chapel. To fulfil this strong passion I started a life drawing evening course at the “Accademie des Beaux Arts” in Belgium. There, I developed a strong interest for the emotions that can be expressed by the human body. Then, when I moved to Rome I started studying comic strip. I learned how to combine the human body and the surrounding space. I then graduated cum laude in history of art at the University La Sapienza of Rome. When I was writing my thesis in cinema I participated as an actress to the film Gang of New York of Martin Scorsese. During the set, while I was walking in the reconstructed streets of New York, I realized how much the surrounding buildings and architecture could influence our emotions. I dream to poursue my carrier as freelance illustrator |
