Gavin Lenaghan Artist Statement Thus far in what remains a foray into Fine Art education of some infancy, my perceptive grasp of shape, line and accompanying modes of visual lustre has manifested in various self-generated 'animated' figures and comic strips alongside my similarly artistically deft sibling, Craig, universal tendencies in turn successfully spawning a plethora of alternative modes of expression, among which are painted canvases, life model studies and still life studies. Avid as we are as a family in all things 'illustrative', my mother is presently building an online-based creative card-making concern and I myself turn my pen to writing, much of which with a nod towards such themes as art criticism, local and provincial history and exhibition projects, as well as literature. Our profile as a unit is set to increase in local circles with the prospect of various, as yet, unconfirmed 'public' activities poised to take place throughout 2007.
