James'
work explores redundant spaces within industrial architecture.
Bland Exteriors of warehouse buildings are a common occurrence
to our eyes; in contrast, the interiors remain undiscovered.
Through his imagery, we are shown these interiors in a derelict
state, questioning the purpose they once fulfilled. Human
presence is evident by objects within the frame, inviting
the viewer to interact with the scene.
This
current series of work has recently led the artist to photograph,
Portsmouth Commercial port, A derelict Cornish mine and
a west country farm building. James plans to continue discovering
locations throughout the United Kingdom and internationally,
possibly introducing the exteriors that house these dramatic
interiors.
