Juan Barletta

He studied drawing and painting at Neuquen‘s Provincial School of Arts.
He has graduate education in Graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires since the year 2000.
Although he has been being a self- taught artist in the year 2005 he made an art classes with Elsa Soiblman an art teacher and painter.

2006 - Selcted to "Premio Estímulo Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires " PINTURA september 2006 - Buenos Aires, Argentina
2003 - individual exhibition at El bar del Viejo Hotel (Balcarce 1054, San Telmo) Buenos Aires, Argentina.
2003 – The Eroti-K Series at San Francisco de Sales 35, 9º left 28003 Madrid – Spain through the intervention of the art gallery "Visionarte".
2003 - The Eroti-K series at Washington – USA through the intervention of the Cultural Centre of "El Sol De Caracas".
2003 – Since January to June he did live painting at Grandfather Restaurant where he displayed his work permanently.
2002 – Grouped artist's exhibition at Pousada Minha Louca Paisão, Morro de São Paulo, Bahía, and Brazil.
2002 – Grouped artists exhibition at Hotel Embajador, Punta del Este, Uruguay by Cearco . Grupo Orión XXI Gallery of contemporary Art.

Artist Statement

The artist work of art shows a contemporary language where the human body-shape strings together the whole series. This is a new language and at the same times an esthetic declaration which privileges simple elements in order to get pure results. Therefore he creates an interaction among cold bodies devoid of expression and neutral bottoms in which the observer feels the intense contrast between the expressive realism of the human shapes and the flats backgrounds.
There is no doubt that being a graphic designer gives to his work strong connotations of style and esthetic, typical of this profession.
Finally a modern and unique language emerges from the mix of his technical degree and his sensitivity and perception, which is capture in his work to be seen.
The current series, last a long period and it is where the artist found his authentic personality. He let us see a subjective expressionism that rejects the primacy of the object and look at the world from his own special perception.
On one hand there is the sensuality, seduction and the beauty of the femme fatale of nowadays, on the other hand the breaking of the formal anatomical structure.
He is not only making a break-up of the logical morphology of the human shape, he also is creating a new lecture of that shape where he denies, exaggerates, distorts and dramatizes the reality. On others words he assumes reality through his experiences and grows away from an ideal model.
