Kamal was born in 1964 in Shiraz, Iran. In 1988, he began his professional
study in art photography at the Iranian Youth Association for Cinema under
the close supervision of the well-known Professor Chehrenegar and subsequently
received his Photography Diploma from the Vocational Institute in Shiraz.
He has also successfully completed a Photography Diploma course from the
New York Institute of Photography.
Kamal has also taught Photography at the "New Wave" Photography
School and the Youth Association for Cinema in Shiraz. In addition to teaching,
during his eight-year photography career in Iran, Kamal was published in
a variety of media including books, magazines, newspapers and CDes. His
works have also been displayed internationally at individual and collective
exhibitions in such countries as Iran, France, Poland, and Turkey.
Kamal is a resident of Canada, and is a member of the Canadian Association
for Photographic Art. His works have been displayed in twelve exhibitions
since his arrival in Canada. Through exhibitions, Kamal attempts to raise
Canadian awareness of Iran and its people's history, architecture, customs,
and life styles. After almost 15 years of actively working in the field,
Kamal has had the opportunity not only to learn the technical aspects of
photography, but also the human element as well. He is now working on a
very interesting theme, comparing the lifestyle of the aboriginal people
of Canada to those of Tribal Iran.
