Aritst Statement

Katie’s main experiences are Textiles, for Interiors – using constructed Textiles methods, theses aspects are individual and very different to other Textile Designers.

This whole idea of bringing the ‘Outside In’ is a strong influence in Katie’s work she sees her pieces used in contract, office buildings, bars, clubs, restaurants, traditionally located in densely populated urban areas with little or no greenery to speak of

Katie works with re-cycled, innovative materials, plastics, bubble wrap, papers, packaging, fibre optics and wire producing pieces and fabrics. The structures could be transformed in to window treatments, office art pieces, room dividers, lighting pieces, wall hangings, and also offer the viewer a respite from the hectic city life, a little piece of serenity, nature to lose your self in.
