Artist Statement Mark Leach is a professional artist based on the south coast of the UK near Rye in Sussex. In the past twenty years he has concentrated on painting the landscape. During this time, the work has evolved from large, heavily textured paintings involving many different materials, to a more refined, minimal style. An essential truth is sought through simple form and colour. The preferred mediums are pastel and acrylic. His specialised use of soft chalk pastel has won many major awards. Paintings are exhibited in London, and throughout the UK and Europe. They are held in both private and corporate collections world-wide. He contributes to and has been featured in national and international art magazines. He is a member of the Federation of British Artists and Honorary Treasurer of the Pastel Society. Mark Leach is represented by the Blackheath Gallery, London; Broadway Modern Gallery, Worcs.; First Sight Gallery, Bath and The Gallery, Beckenham. -
