To understand a piece, you must experience the piece. The piece and the viewer must go beyond the superficial surface dialogue and reach into the depths of the moment that they share and are an equal part in. As objects we exist within a space, we interrupt and affect the space around us. What happens to that space when we fill it?... do we absorb the space or does the space absorb us? Are we oil within the space of water or do we have the ability to envelop ourselves to the extent that we may merge and become part of that space and then beyond our immediate space to the 'greater space'. This 'greater space' has the ability to obliterate our physical presence and combine with our core emotional power... meditation intrigues me.

I use light as a media. I'm intrigued by its ability to hold an intense presence yet have no physical qualities that we can touch. I seek an emotional connection between viewer and artwork to the point where we may feel it. I see my current work as drawing with light, visualising space and tension between objects. I'm currently looking at site responsive work and have a proposal for a public space but am seeking sponsorship to make this possible.
