Artist statement

I am very interested in how the human form relates to its surroundings and I have been developing this idea though the use of screen-printed figures over the surface of heavily textured mono-prints. I combine various stenciling techniques, generally ones that encourage spontaneity, such as torn papers, stencils and painting directly on to prints with gouaches or inks.

I develop my work primarily through photography which I then simplify before working in water-based media and drawing inks.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I have a lot of practical experience within the Printmaking field as this is what I specialised in for my Fine Art degree. However I also have experience in painting, ceramics, sculpture and installation work. I have a good deal of experience of working with galleries and organizing my own and group exhibitions.

I am very interested in developing my skills and understanding of community arts schemes further. I think it is very important that the general public are able to access art on all levels and are made aware of its importance for community regeneration.

I am also interested in Art & Health related projects, as I have been involved with special needs support work for the past six years.
