Artist Statement:
About the work: For years I’d always wanted to produce art that was bright, bold, eye-catching and interesting. During my time at Edinburgh College Of Art I managed to start heading in the direction I’d had in mind for so long and create images that were as honest as possible to my original intent.
The work usually begins with pen and ink sketches evolving into a final black and white version, this is then scanned and I add effects, colour, more detail and so - depth into the images. There is a lot of “rock/poster” art out there but I think my work might have that something extra that people are looking for to help move the genre along…even if it’s just a tiny bit, I guess we’ll see. I’m nervous but always excited about what the future may hold in terms of my work.
The content of the work is usually something that I think ‘anyone’ can relate to in some way or another and at any level, I try to avoid pretension and abstract ambiguity at all costs, it seems a very easy trap to fall into when you’re a young artist trying to make your way and having to explain everything you do.
It’s inspired by social aspects that are always around us (therefore easy to relate to?) and some that I’ve grown up with in one way or another, maybe dealing with such loaded subjects is a fine line to walk but usually I find people are more concerned with how the work looks and conveys more than how it supposedly might be trying to ‘change the world’. I always aim for originality and enjoyment when it comes to me producing the work and others viewing it, maybe idealism but it seems to be working so far.

So far there’s not too much to the CV as I’ve literally just graduated.
I’ve done some non-commissioned work for U.S. based bands and labels that have all seen my work and have said that they are looking to employ my services in the near future.
I’m open to commissions and am available for promotional work (posters, flyers). I also design tattoos, business/shop/band logos, CD covers/inlays, clothing prints, do editorials and if anyone else out there has anything other than this for me to do then just get in touch with me via this site.
Thanx for taking the time to check out my stuff and put up with what I have to say, hope you like what I draw and that I hear from you soon.
