Artist Statement

I am a graphic designer living and working in London.

My passion for art and design started at a young age, and although I never went to art college, I have forged a successful career in graphic design, and my painting developed out of this.

I would describe my art as ‘tactile’. Using a lot of texture in my work, I like mixing rough and smooth materials to produce interesting and sometimes unexpected results.

Each painting seems to take on a life of its own, and develops individually. By layering plaster, sand, wax and even wood, I find the painting grows almost as naturally as the materials I use to create them.

I have exhibited at numerous art and craft fairs, and to date a lot of my work has been done on commission and hanging proudly in homes across the UK !
